The royal wedding is upon us, and Windsor is gearing up for the celebrations. The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead council are preparing to festoon the town with bunting and banners, while the couple’s chosen florist will be foraging the meadows of Windsor Great Park for wildflowers and foliage for the floral displays in the chapel.

With the buzz and excitement about the upcoming nuptials on everyone’s mind, we thought we’d have a closer look into Windsor and what it can offer those who are relocating to the UK.


A unique, historic royal town with a cosmopolitan twist, Windsor is a favourite for top schools, high quality pedestrianised shopping and excellent transport links, with the average commute time to London Paddington being 29 minutes.

In terms of property, Windsor offers something for everyone, from period cottages to elegant Georgian homes, Victorian terraces, thirties and more modern houses, plus a plethora of modern, riverside apartments.

 Estate agent Charles Elsmore-Wickens of Savills, says at least a third of his buyers have left London for Windsor, enticed by its history and royal connections, the river, easy access back into the capital and Heathrow airport.
